Task Mode lets your AI coworker run multi-step jobs end-to-end in an isolated local environment: research, write files, run code, report back.

Task Mode is the core capability of Interaction 1.0 — and the way your AI coworker actually gets to work: you describe a job in plain language, and it plans and executes inside a macOS VM — reading files, searching, running scripts — until it hands you the result.

Task Mode currently requires macOS 14+. The iOS app focuses on chat; task execution will follow.

Unlike "help me draft a plan", Task Mode actually acts: opens terminals, installs dependencies, runs tests. The process is visible, pausable, and reversible. Like onboarding a new colleague, you stay in control, and trust grows with results.

This is our most complex engineering delivery to date. Architecture details will follow in a dedicated engineering post — try it first.
